Progress

Happy Easter!

I'm excited. This was my first time using my Mum's Sweet Sixteen Handi Quilter. It's a little tough but better than the sewing machine. I don't think I am used to it yet. Definitely need more practice.

Below is a picture of a close-up of the design I used in each square and used a leaf to go from one block to another, diagonally along the quilt.

It has been a very productive day. I also have the binding on my diary cover and the binding on my little heart wall quilt, which has no name at the moment.

Little treasures

Introducing my beautiful sister Heather and me. She's the light of my life :-)

Festival of Half Square Traingles

Who is following the Festival of Half Square Traingles?

I'm so excited about it! Including the HST BOM I am currently swimming in Half Square Triangles. But, I am loving it!

Today's post was by Amy at amyscreativeside.com featuring her beautiful Cosmic Burst Pillow. I'm so excited that she has shared how she made this little beauty. I can't wait to make one for myself!

Amy's Creative Side

So if you're not following the Festival of a half Square Traingles, I highly recommend you check it out. Pop over to Megan's website for all the details.

HST Block of the Month

Jeni over at In Color Order posted April's block for the Half Square Triangle Block of the Month.  It's pinwheels!  So excited that I've already made the block.

It does look a little funny with the white-on-white fabric in the photo but it looks much better in-person.  This is definitely my favourite block so far.  Not just the block design, but the fabrics I've chosen.  Both top fabrics, I haven't used before in the previous blocks.

So how does it look so far?

I'm so excited to see this little quilt come together.

Happy Days!

March in Review

My biggest accomplishment this March was that I finished my fist bed-size quilt!  I actually got it finished in time for my boyfriend's visit but gave it to him with taking a finished photo! I will have to take one down on the farm.  So instead there is a photo of it being laid out ready for quilting.

Lily's Quilts

What I need to finish this April...

 (All require quilting then binding)

This week I'm making a diary cover from the leftover fabric from the above quilt.

Odd Quilting Habits

I have a habit of taking photos of all my trimmings.  I don't know why but when I see all the slithers of colours in a pile on the cutting mat, I must take a photo.  So below are some of my trimmings...

Do you have an odd habit when you're quilting?

Easter Time

My sister has been buying so many Easter Eggs for us! I love the little bit of magic Easter brings... and the chocolate of course!
